Non Runner today – Rock of Star 2.42pm Carlisle
Rock of Star has been withdrawn from the 2.42pm Carlisle today, due to concerns on the ground.
Rock of Star is a 8-year-old gelding that we purchased for the Arqana Lumet (Jumps Breeze-Up) French Sales in 2020 as a 3-year-old, by the sire Nom De D’La a 2 times Grade 3 winner in France over 2m 3f – 2m 7f and out of the mare Rolie De Vindecy who also was a Grade 3 winner in France over 2m 2f so hails from a very classy family.
Rock of Star has already won his first race over hurdles and now stepped up to chasing over the fences. He enjoys his training and has gone onto win his last two races by a total of 14 lengths. He is an exciting prospect over the coming months.

Rock of Star has been given an opening mark of 99 over hurdles, he has the scope to be much higher than this so it’s a great opportunity at an early stage in his racing career to give him a chance at his first win. We will be looking at a few runs before the…
Rock of Star ran a super race at Wincanton to stay on for 6th passing horses all the way down the straight. I am really pleased with him. He has come out of the race fine, we gave him a day off and turned him out, and he went for a nice hack this morning.…

Rock of Star looks fantastic. He is cantering two or three times up every morning and is taking a good hold. He is an exciting prospect for the yard and I am looking forward to finding another suitable race for him. He had a couple of quit days after his Exeter race along with some…
Rock of Star came out of the race at Exeter well, he is back cantering and has had some time outside in the turn-out pen. We will give him a couple of quiet weeks cantering steadily at home and then start to push on with him again.
Rock of Star really pleased me at Exeter, Adam Wedge was complimentary of him after the run. He did race quite keenly to start with, but we expected that, and it was good to see him settle in behind eventually. He just tired towards the end but ran a fantastic race and is an exciting…
Rock of Star made his season reappearance at Exeter on Wednesday, Kieran Woods had been booked to ride but due to a fall on Monday he wasn’t 100% to ride so Adam Wedge stepped in, The plan was to give him a confidence ride following his one and only fall on his race debut, we…

Rock of Star has done some more pieces of fast work. He is pleasing me at home. I want to get him that little bit fitter before taking him away for a gallop, as I want the away gallop to be his final piece of work before a run. He really has a touch of…
Rock of Star is looking amazing, he is the one horse I am very excited to see run next, he is going three times up the gallops, which equates to over 3 miles round trip, we are looking to take him for a grass gallop before he runs next. I would like to think October…
Rock of Star is looking well, he is keeping on the condition, I think that the variation of routine, as well as a very slow build-up with work, has really suited him. I am doing lots of incline work with him on the treadmill, to keep building up his muscle. I am aiming to have…
Rock of Star is looking amazing, he is really filling out. He is doing once up the gallop after going out for a hack most mornings and then goes out in the pen over lunch. He is enjoying his routine of going out hacking before going twice up the gallop every morning. He is looking…
Rock of Star looks amazing!!! I am happy with him. He is going on the treadmill and is up to trotting 2 miles a day. I am so excited for him this season; he is starting to muscle up and is eating a lot. He had a small canter this morning, he will be back…
Rock of Star is now back in the stables following his break, his shoes are back on, and is on the walkers daily along with some nice hacks, he will be on the gallops shortly.
Rock of Star is now turned out every day which he enjoys and I am looking to start him back for the new season ahead.
Rock of Star has come out of his run fine. It was a shame about the fall at the second last, he had traveled so well throughout the race and had kept up with the pace which was super. I am really pleased with his effort regardless.
Rock of Star has an entry for Taunton on the 15th Mar in the 2.10 pm William Hill Pick Your Places Maiden Hurdle over 2m 1/2f Declarations will be on the 13th Mar.
Rock of Star looked super schooling up the grass yesterday morning. He is entered for Taunton, we will keep an eye on the forecast but I am hoping we will be able to run him.
Rock of Star really enjoyed his day out on Tuesday, it was good to get an idea of the distance and ground he will want when he runs. I was delighted with his genuine attitude and he settled much better than last year.
Rock of Star is strong and well, he has kept on the condition nicely. I haven’t managed to get in an away gallop just yet, as the weather has been unforgiving to the ground. I have penciled him in for the bumper at Wincanton on the 11th of March. The chiropractor saw him on Tuesday…
Rock of Star did another piece of faster work yesterday, he is looking really well. He will be ready for a bumper run at the end of this month or the start of March. I will take him to the grass gallops next week to bring him on.
Rock of Star had his first bowl on Saturday morning, and looked really well. I am cautious of not giving him too much fast work so that he keeps the condition he has gained, as he is looking very well in himself.
Rock of Star is continuing to canter on the gallops every day, and should be ready for a piece of faster work soon. He is looking strong, I am looking forward to getting him onto the racecourse.
Rock of Star seems to be progressing in his fitness at a similar rate to Pinson du Rheu. He is looking much stronger as well and has filled out which I am really pleased about. He is looking very well and is now doing 4 times up the gallop. He had his teeth done over…
Rock of Star is coming along well in his work and has been cantering on the gallops but we are keeping a balance with quieter days. He is building up muscle quickly, and I am steadily increasing his workload. I am really pleased with him.
